Don't waste water, time it!
Category: Recommendations, Eco Friendly Home, place holder
Anyone who's got a garden understands the importance of watering; our plants need a good supply of H20 to thrive, and we need to provide it if mother nature is having an off day. Since the majority of people in this country work full time, rushing home to give our flowers, plants, and fruit trees a drink isn't an option (if we want to keep our jobs) Running a sprinkler system is a fine idea, but it isn't very eco-friendly since these tend depend on humans to shut them off, and on. When was the last time you forgot the sprinkler was running and came out to a soggy lawn and even soggier garden?
For someone who's got a garden, but doesn't have time time to stand and monitor water use with a sprinkler system we recommend getting a garden timer. Much like a kitchen timer you set it to when you want to have your yard or garden watered, and let the timer do the rest! This sort of item is perfect if you're going away on a trip, and don't want to worry about pestering someone to come and water your lawn (and lets face it, they will probably forget...) You won't need to worry about wasting water either; on a restriction? Set it in to the timer! Only need a quick rinse? Tell it to the timer! You would be surprised to know the amount of water that gets wasted on...watering. We can put a stop to this, and cut our water uses down dramatically by using a garden timer! Setting your timer for the early morning, or evening when the soil is at it's prime for absorbing water will also cut down on your use.
